McKellar Cadillac, Orlando Florida sticker is still on the bumper
Mae
and Barrie sent in a picture of their Cadillac and some information. Below is their story. Thanks Mae and Barrie :)
Mae & I were not old car buffs but this car was in good shape but had lacked maintenance. It also required a home so we purchased it in the mid 80’s while
living in Ontario. While in Ontario we did the necessary maintenance and repairs but were discouraged as the car wondered when driving on the highway. This
problem was eventually solved with a new disc in the steering column.
Shortly after retiring to Nova Scotia in the mid 90’s we became active members of Eastern Shore Memories Cruisers Antique Car Club.
This club; ESMC; with its sponsors; and its annual antique car show has continually raised funds to supported children / teen activities and senior
functions along the Eastern Shore of NS. Our members including husbands and wives, together attend social functions, car shows & meetings.
Supporting the community through our ESMC car shows, traveling and working with friends/comrades and showing the Cadillac has been very gratifying to Mae & me
over the past 14 years
Technical challenges:
*Vacuum temperature control system that never functioned during our ownership.
*Gas tank that needs to be filled slowly or gas will spills out through the filler pipe.
*Power converter leaks back into the transmission when sitting for a long period.
Parts required:
Neutral switch with vacuum attachment
2 ea. Sedan Deville model plates for rear fenders
Don’t run out of gas in a Cadillac when traveling with club members as they don’t forget. Oh well we all need a good laugh.
