As any car owner must know, recalls are
a common occurrence when a person buys a new vehicle. To many people it is
actually a perk because when you buy a used model off the lot, you are not
normally contacted about recalls. Although it may seem upsetting that you’re
“new” vehicle has something wrong with it, most people find it reassuring
because they know that the problem was found and will be properly taken care
of by the dealer and manufacturer.
In most cases, the car owners will be contacted via snail mail and
receive a notification with further instructions on what the problem with
their vehicle is and how to get it taken care of in a prompt manner.
With this in mind, Cadillac has recently issued an important recall on the 2006 Cadillac EXT. The recall was issued in December of 2005, and focuses on the tires and rims. The recall is in relation to Federal Vehicle Safety Standard No.110.
This may not affect all 2006 Cadillac Escalade EXT’s, but it is very important for those that it does pertain to due to the fact that it could possibly lead to a crash. This is currently the only recall that has been given on the 2006 Cadillac EXT.
Apparently, some vehicles were labeled with the improper stickers or labels
that tell the vehicle weight and the specifications for tire inflation. If the
tires are inflated improperly this could lead to a possible accident.
As of yet the manufacturer has not stated when they will provide a
notification list to the owners. The number to contact Cadillac about the recall
on the 2006 Cadillac EXT to see if this recall pertains to you is
1-866-982-2339. Corrected labels and instructions on how to install them will be
given to the owners. See our other 2006 Cadillac pages.
