Cadillac Club: 2000 Cadillacs: 2007 Cadillac Ext

2007 Cadillac Ext

2007 Cadillac EXT Features

Is it a truck or is it an SUV? Doing double duty, the Cadillac EXT is one of the most versatile of all Cadillac models on the market today. Sharing components with the Escalade and ESV, the EXT can carry five passengers in almost unimaginable comfort while having an ample cargo area especially with the fold down mid gate. Yes, Cadillac designed the EXT to give owners the option of maximizing available cargo area by providing comparable room to a full size pick up truck, if needed.

The passenger compartment of the EXT is truly luxurious. Leather seating with burl wood trim, optional heated steering wheel, dual zone climate control, touch screen navigation system, Bose surround sound system, and rear DVD system are just some of the many features that can be found in the EXT.

On the outside, 18 inch alloy wheels are standard with beefy 22 inch wheels optional. The expansive grille featured on the ultra modern Cadillac Sixteen concept car has been included with the EXT with stacked headlights giving the vehicle a truly aggressive, yet refined edge.

Knowing that EXT owners like to pull stuff, Cadillac made sure that the towing capacity was sufficient to tow 7600 pounds of trailer, boat, or what have you. Indeed, the massive 6.2L Vortec V8 is even bigger than the engine it replaces but thanks to technological advancements the engine and accompanying six speed automatic actually have improved fuel mileage over the previous models.

Safety is the siren call in the auto industry these days as consumers demand to have all of the latest technology incorporated with their vehicles. The Cadillac EXT does not disappoint; in fact, it truly delivers. Side curtain air bags are standard, as are Bosch antilock brakes, stability control with rollover mitigation, and road-sensing suspension. The frame of the 2007 ESV, which is an all new model, sees a torsional increase of 49% over the previous model according to Cadillac.

One has to think that the EXT would be more of a show truck rather than a workhorse. Regardless, donít let its Cadillac fascia fool you Ė the EXT has been built for country clubber and construction worker alike and is truly a multipurpose vehicle sure to please white collar and blue collar owner the same.
