Last week I shared a story from Tony in South Africa who was restoring a 1937 Cadillac LaSalle. I got a lot of comments from members asking for pictures of the final restore but Tony didn’t have any yet. Well today Tony sent me an email full of pictures and I decided to make a post on the main site with them.

It may take a few seconds to load the page but the wait is well worth it. Check out Tony’s 1937 Cadillac and tell me you are not impressed. Then come back here and leave a comment letting Tony know what a great job that was done. On the bottom of the page I will link back to this post so you can just click on that and be back on this page to leave a comment.

Do You Use a Kindle?

I have been getting questions on one of my other websites about putting together a kindle book and was wondering if any of our members and readers use a Kindle and would be interested in a Kindle book if I made it. If you know me I will probably make one anyway since I love doing new things like that. I have thousands of pictures of Cadillacs that have never made it on to the site and the new Kindle Fire lets users see pictures in color now so I am thinking about that.

Hi, my name is Volker, I am from germany and since I was a little kid i´m impressed off old and big US Classic cars. I have owned other US cars(79 Camaro, 02 Chrysler 300m) before but this is my first Cadillac. It is not in showroom condition but it runs and the powerfull engine makes me smile each time I pump the gas…the sound off the 500ci…..Most off the time I drive it slow and carefull. The Cadillac will be restored step by step.
Got a contact in Phönix to get parts for my old Lady.

I get a lot of emails as you can imagine but this one sent to me from Tom from Texas was great and he is allowing me to share his story and pictures from his restore project a 1951 series 61 Cadillac. Here is his email.

Vinnie,

Glad I found your site, and I plan to use it as time goes on here. I have worked for a railroad for about 21 years now, and decided I needed a hobby to get my mind off the job and have another passion. I found my first Caddy in 2001 which was a 1992 Sedan DeVille and fell in love with it. I then decided to get real brave and buy a 1951 Model 62 near Corsicana that had been in storage(inside, thank God), but did not run and the engine was stuck. Well it was a good buy at $1,850 and five years later, alot of lessons learned and about $35,000 I have my baby, which I named after the first and last owners of the car before me. It was sold new in San Salvador, Elsalvador and I am still trying to trace the history on how it got here. It ended its last career in Greenville, TX in the late 60′s and then went into storage about 1980, which was the last registration.

Thanks for letting me share a bit, and I have enclosed a few pictures of Vera-Jose.

Take care, Tom D. Fort Worth, TX

Now for the after pictures which I am sure you will look at a few times because Tom really did a great job with this restoration project.

I need your help – I am putting together a list of all the best resources when it comes to Cadillac’s and I want to know your favorite sites and forums. Just send me an email and tell me what sites you browse and go to for reliable information. Thanks Vinny

1968 Cadillac Calais

This is not the way a Cadillac is suppose to spend its final days. Up near Seattle Washington “Bud O” a Cadillaccountryclub member let me know about this poor Cadillac that needs some love.

I hope there is someone out there that can make this 1968 Cadillac look like it once did. It looks like it needs a full restoration.

“At first glance, I thought this car had been underwater, what with it’s myriad water-based lifeforms clinging to its seals and all. Heck, there are even visible signs of green slime inside the windshield.”

See more or get in touch with the owner here.

http://jalopnik.com/397423/drowned-cadillac-and-skeletal-ranchero-await-resurrection-in-washington-storage-yard

On another note drinking and driving doesn’t mix

With July 4th right around the corner I don’t have to tell you that people will make the mistake of going to a BBQ and having drinks and then getting into their car and driving. This is a story that will just make you say HuH and she did it in a Cadillac which makes matters worse.
