There are a number of important recalls on some current models of Cadillac SUVs. Recalls have been issued on the 2006 Cadillac Escalade EXT, and the 2005 Cadillac Escalade. The recalls are explained in the following paragraphs along with a number to call to determine if they apply to you, if you have not already received the proper notification from the manufacturer.
The 2005 Cadillac Escalade has two current recalls from the manufacturer. The
first factory recall deals with the shift pattern position indicator. In
laymen’s terms this means that the illuminating light under your shift column
may not light up to show you what gear you have your vehicle in.
As one can imagine, this component could possibly fail and cause the driver
to go into an unintended gear, resulting in an accident. The second recall deals
with the rear seatbelts. This recall explains that the back center seatbelts may
not fit properly on some people, especially younger children. They may ride up
to high, and not be snug enough for the safety of a young rider. The problem
will be remedied by the dealer removing a portion of the guide loop on the belt
to help ensure that it will fit better and not cause problems to the rider.
The 2006 Cadillac Escalade EXT has one current recall. This deals with some vehicles having the incorrect labels that explain the tire pressure needed for inflation. The stickers that tell the specifications for inflation may not tell the correct PSI, which could result in filling your tires improperly and causing an accident.
If you are an owner of either of these Cadillac SUVs and have not yet received a recall notice in the mail, the number to call is 1-866-982-2339.
